The earthquake shakes our mango tree (see picture below). The tree swayed and danced with the ground.
The rice field and the ground are shaking...
The shaking slowed down. Then, I was running my motorcycle and went to my destination.
No damage has been reported here in Oroquieta City. People were only panic and afraid of what this earthquake might bring to us.
After the quake, I heard stories of old people about the reason why earthquakes are happening. They said it's a "sumpa" or "curse".
But what science says, "eathquake is usually caused when rock underground suddenly breaks along a fault".
The U.S. Geological Survey reported earlier that the center of this earthquake was in Balilihan, Bohol, Philippines. It's a 7.2 magnitude earthquake.
As highlighted in the map above, the quake was also felt in the nearby provinces of Bohol such as Cebu, Negros Occidenal, Negros Oriental, Iloilo, Leyte, Siquijor, Surigao and in the northern part of Mindanao (Zamboanga City, Dipolog, Cagayan de Oro, Iligan City, Camiguin, Gingoog, etc.).
More updated will be posted here...
What can you say about the earthquake? Did you also feel it in your place? Are there any damage in your place brought by the earthquake?
