The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (NONECO) announced on Wednesday, October 20, that its power rate for October is P11.1328 per kWh or a decrease of P2.8376 from last month.
The decrease is attributed to the low cost of electricity purchased from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) with an average price of P3.5585 per kWh, and the deferment in the collection of congestion cost and line rental until the restoration of the damaged National Grid Corporation of the Philippines Cebu-Negros submarine cable, a NONECO advisory said.FEATURED STORIES

The main driver of the lower electricity rates this month is the P3.1942 per kWh reduction in the generation charge, which moved from P 8.6439 to P5.4497 per kWh, NOCECO said.
On Tuesday Central Negros Electric Cooperative also announced that its average residential rate for October is P10.1788/kWh, a decrease of P2.0814/kWh, from last month’s rate of P12.2602/kWh.
