""HUBSY"" BREATHER DOLL 19"" HEIGHT This is quite a rare doll and the only one I have ever had. It is very hard to find information on this doll and my 2 sources conflict a little with each other as one article says Gebruder Pfeiffer had factories in Austria, Vienna and Thuringia and the other article says Koppelsdorf in Germany. Again one article states this doll was produced in 1923 and the other 1925. These Hubsy dolls were often found on Bebe Jumeau bodies as this one is which makes her even more desirable. She stands in height approximately 19"". As she is not all original I have priced her accordingly. The bisque socket head has no damage and just a minor rub mark to the nose and one cheek that are barely worth mentioning. She retains her original brown glass eyes that have been set stationary and she has had soft eyelashes added. She has feathered, multi stroked eyebrows and delicately stroked upper and lower eyelashes as well as the usual red accent dot in the corner of each eye. She is a ""breather"" meaning that her nostrils are pierced, rather than just the usual red painted dots. Her open mouth reveals 2 replaced porcelain upper teeth and a red felt tongue behind. She has a dimple in her chin. Her lovely long brown wig is a replacement and feels like human hair and her pate is also replaced. Her Bebe Jumeau body is original to her but I believe the arms/hands are replacements but are a good match. The original Bebe Jumeau sticker is clear on the torso. She has had a repair to one foot that is hidden under her clothing and has been recently re-strung. She comes dressed in a gorgeous pink smocked and embroidered frock with a collar with lace trims. Underneath she has pantaloons, stockings and buckle up cream shoes. Her hat is antique but is coming away from the rim but cannot be seen when on the dolls head. It is trimmed with flowers and ribbon. This doll has a gorgeous face and will delight her new owner. Please email me if you have any further questions.
