2013 SEAMEO-Japan Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Award

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, Science and Technology, Japan (MEXT) in cooperation with the UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education and the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. announce the 2013 SEAMEO-Japan Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Award with the theme Values Education.

The SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award aims to
  1. raise awareness about the importance of values education among schools and communities in Southeast Asia;
  2. promote and share best practices and initiatives of values-based education approaches within schools and communities in Southeast Asia; and
  3. enable schools to develop and improve current practices in values education.
All public and private schools in the 11 SEAMEO member-countries namely: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam are invited to submit information about their respective school’s activities/programmes relating to the theme Values Education.

The template of Submission Form of 2013 SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award must be submitted on or before September 16, 2013. The submission form, guidelines for submission of entries, and details of the judging criteria can be downloaded from the SEAMEO website: www.seameo.org.
