8th Philippine Sudoku Super Challenge (PSSC)

The Mathematics Trainers’ Guild (MTG), Philippines in coordination with the Philippine Star and SM Supermalls will launch its 8th Philippine Sudoku Super Challenge (PSSC).

The Competition aims to:

1. promote the number puzzle to the youth for purposes of developing their reasoning ability;
2. enhance their mental and critical skills necessary to solve life’s problems effectively; and
3. offer them a good alternative to spending enjoyable, educational and productive past time.

The elementary pupils and secondary students from both public and private schools are invited to participate in these categories: Sudoku Whiz (Elementary Level) and Sudoku Wizard (High School Level). Interested Sudoku enthusiasts must answer and submit at least 20 original cut-outs of Sudoku puzzles within August 31, 2013 to October 12, 2013 in the Philippine Star. The original cut-outs, which are to be submitted not later than October 12, 2013 to the nearest MTG center coordinators, are their individual entries to qualify for the elimination round.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
