The Training-Workshop basically aims to provide the participants with the necessary skills which will enhance teaching and learning process in MG schools. Specifically, it aims to:
- introduce to the participants the outcome-based and student-centered learning approaches and activities which will develop critical and creative thinking skills of the pupils such as inquiry-based learning (IBL), problem-based learning (PBL), project-based learning (PBL), among others, and other vital topics on MG instruction;
- enhance their skills in conducting and facilitating the school-based training and/or mentoring of MG teachers; and
- orient them on the content of the training activities and strategies for training and/or mentoring of the MG teachers.
Participants to this activity shall be the teacher-scholars of the 2011 Summer Training Program for Multigrade Teachers and selected district supervisors/principals in-charge and/or cluster principals of MG schools nationwide. The number of participants from each division is found in Enclosure No. 2. The MG teacher-scholars are listed in Enclosure Nos. 3a, 3b, and 3c.
The schools division/city superintendents (SDSs) shall determine the participating district supervisors and coordinating principals/cluster principals from the districts where MG schools are prevalent. The participants shall, in turn, serve as trainers and mentors of MG teachers in their respective schools, districts and divisions.
All participants are expected to check in at 1:00 p.m. on the first day of the training and check out at lunch time on the last day.
All expenses such as transportation, board and lodging, supplies and materials, and other expenses relative to the training shall be charged to the training funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
Travel expenses incurred to and from the training based on the shortest/direct route and most economical fare prevailing in the area shall only be reimbursed upon presentation of approved travel authority and other travel documents. However, hiring of vehicles is discouraged. Amount incurrred in excess of the minimum fare will not be reimbursed.
