WRITERS AND EDITORS FOR A NEWS WEBSITE

We are thriving online media company providing news to more than 3 million visitors in the U.S. and around the world. Based in downtown New York City, the company is hiring writing professionals who aspire to delve into the exciting opportunities this industry has to offer. We are seeking writers able to produce content in two areas:

1. General news and stories not specifically Latino-oriented (business, tech, entertainment, health, sports, fashion, trending news).
2. Stories that resonate with the general Hispanic community in the U.S. or that explore the lives and interests of the Latino community. Articles are in English, but fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Latin Post is also interested in applicants who can work during the weekend/night shifts.

Two types of positions are available:

Section Editors
Responsible for the content of a particular beat (e.g. tech, politics, immigration). S/he will also help polish the website’s voice to increase viewership, as well as develop Hispanic-oriented/related content. This position requires an innovative, organized, resourceful and goal-oriented leader who has a strong vision, a proven track record in management and an obsession with online trends.

Reporters
Must be capable of breaking important news as well as researching and writing multiple articles throughout the day while meeting daily deadlines and traffic goals. Candidates must be timely when delivering news stories, write compelling articles, drive traffic and have great organizational skills. Excellent writing and grammar skills are a must.
