Can I run the same virtual machine in both vmware on a PC and vmware fusion on a Mac?

Can I run the same virtual machine in both vmware on a PC and vmware fusion on a Mac? Can one boot the same VM image in vmware workstation on a Windows XP machine AND in vmware fusion on a Mac?
