Once turned on, my Olympus is acting as if the cap was still on.

Once turned on, my Olympus is acting as if the cap was still on.

Whether the cap is on or off, the camera does not seem to detect the difference - same black screen with the1” F3.5 flashing and the non responsive shutter button, making taking pictures impossible. Anything I can do on my own to fix it?
