Why doesn't my pc display on the monitor

Why doesn't my pc display on the monitor My pc does not display on the monitor. The fans and hard drive are running and the power light is on.The monitor is working as I tried a laptop on it.

Are you getting anything at all on the monitor or does it go into sleep mode? Do you have a graphics card in the pc? If so maybe you have it plugged into the motherboard not the graphics cards display port. Other than that I would restart and spam f10 and see if it will go into the bios.
