Delonghi Dedica only pulls one shot and steam iron only last a few sec

"On a Reddit page I found another who has a similar problem, as I have the exact same problem as you (with a portafilter so not a pressure issue).

I’ve been using their instructions below with 50/50 success in getting the machine to work probably again. wish I had a permanent solution for us

After some experimentation, the issue seems to improved by heating up the steam wand, cooling it down again by passing water through and reheat.

1. ⁠Press steam button to start heat up process

2. ⁠When light on steam button has stopped blinking, press one of the other 2 shot buttons.

3. ⁠While the single shot and double shot buttons are blinking, open the steam valve at the side.

4. ⁠This will pass water through the machine to cool it down to espresso temperature again.

5. ⁠When the noise stops and water is flowing out of the steam wand, close the steam valve.

6. ⁠Press the steam button, once the light stops flashing again, you are free to steam your milk.

I presume this is something to do with the start up process of the machine, but cant be sure.

Process takes about 30secs to 1min."
