"1 Raise the window with the window motor switch so it is all the way to the top of the Chevy Avalanche window frame on the door. Open the hood. Unfasten the negative battery cable from the battery post with an open-end wrench.

Pry the cover plate away from the door lock switch gently with a small flathead screwdriver and set the plate out of the way. Unfasten the door lock switch from the door panel by hand and remove the door panel screws in the back of the door lock switch with a Phillips screwdriver.

Remove the door handle cover from the door panel with a small flathead screwdriver and set the cover off to the side. Pry the upper inside corner panel off the door frame with the small flathead screwdriver and remove the screws that secure the door panel to the door frame with a Phillips screwdriver.

Lift the door panel up and detach it from the door frame. Unfasten the electrical switch connectors from the back of the door panel by hand and set the door panel out of the way. Peel the plastic cover away from the door panel by hand. Locate the power window motor in the center of the door frame.

Loosen the two bolts (one on each side) of the window support with a socket wrench without removing the window from the channel support. Unfasten the three bolts holding the window motor to the frame with a socket wrench and remove the motor from the frame.

Attach the new window motor to the door frame and tighten the window channel support bolts with a socket wrench. Plug the electrical switch connectors into the back of the door panel and secure the panel to the door frame with screws.

Fasten the inside corner panel and door handle cover to the door panel with plastic clips on the back of the corner panel and the cover. Attach the door lock switch to the electrical wire connector. Fasten the switch to the door panel with the plastic clips.

Attach the cover plate over the door lock switch on the door panel with the plastic clips on the back of the plate. Reattach the negative battery cable to the battery post. Close the hood.
