iPod Toch 4 not recognizing Wifi networks I have been repairing iPods, iPhones, and other small electronics for a few years now and this has completely got me stumped.

"Try this first.

Try to connect to wifi just next to the router. In my experience ipod touch 4th generation wifi works without antenna at least 5 feet around the router.

Antenna is necessary after 5 feet distance.

That way you can see if it has antenna problem or motherboard problem.

Sounds like damaged motherboard end of the wireless, most likely the wifi chip, it might look like it's turned on but if the chip is damaged it might not be able to recognise the incoming signal.
