What should I do if the watch hands don't move?

Hi there, my watch hands have stopped moving and I don't know how to get them to start again. What should I do?

Chances are, your battery is dead or something has made the hands stick. To fix these problems replace the battery and if that didn't work, you'll need to clean the watch hands. Good luck!

"Hi @wickedme ,

As it is new and if it looks broken and it is still in the packaging, return it to the place of purchase for a manufacturer’s warranty refund or replacement.

If the retailer won’t do anything for you, search online for the manufacturer of the watch’s warranty provisions to find out how to make a claim for a warranty repair, replacement or refund."

"No one here are saying about quartz watches on how to make them work again if left in a draw for ages, FIRST go and buy a de- magnifier electric tool, it's about £7.00 , now put your new battery into your watch and if it still not working put the watch onto the de- magnifier push down the red button and the hands on the watch will start going around,

after a say 30 seconds lift slowly off the de-magnifier then see if your watch now is working, if still not working try doing it with the watch glass face down and try again.

THIS TOOL HAS GOT A LOT OF MY WATCHES WORK AGAIN

REGARDS"

"First off, what kind of watch is it?

If it’s a quartz watch, then Julia’s suggestion of changing the battery is best. If that doesn’t work, then remove the watch movement and spray compressed air through the watch movement and perhaps dislodge small particles.

If it’s an automatic or windup watch, then remove the movement and spray compressed air throuigh it.

Good luck."
