Why is the battery pack not attaching to the dremel?

Why is the battery pack not attaching to the dremel? My grandmother removed the battery pack from the Dremel and is having trouble reattaching it.

The battery pack fits only one way, so you have to align the battery pack in the proper direction of the Dremel's housing to attach it.
