I can't get the car out of park

I can't get the car out of park My mustang shifter quite working a day ago. My button no longer allow me to shift to any gear.

I had the same problem with my 03 mustang. It was a safety mechanism if your brake lights are not working it will not shift into gear i had to run wire from battery to switch behind brake pedalthen run another wire back to the brake light only thing now is if my foots on brake my left blinker wont blink until i let off brake
