I replaced my dryer belt but still not turning.

I replaced my dryer belt but still not turning.

I replaced the dryer belt, but when I started the dryer up again it heats (very hot, almost smelled burnt) but drum doesn’t turn. I noticed the dryer belt was very tight to put on, is it possible the size is too small, could that prevent the turning?
