Incorrectly installed heating element, heard loud boom when turned on,

Incorrectly installed heating element, heard loud boom when turned on, My Maytag dryer medc465hw0 had a blown/broken heating element. When I attempted to replace it, I incorrectly attached one of the wires. After starting I heard a loud noise and now it no longer starts/spins? Does anyone know what I broke? Thanks for your help.
