Laser MP3-L80 Won't show any other screen then the 'laser' screen

I just got my MP3-L80 ( red ) and when I turn it on, it just goes on the laser screen. It won't turn on any other screen, i've tried plugging it into my laptop but it just says 'unrecognised device.' I've also tried holding down the menu and pause/play button but nothing is working. Please Help.
