My Vizio E280i-B1 has a totally black screen.

since it does not show any signs of life you would start with the power board. vizio typically uses whatever boards they can get their hands on. there is a variety of models for the power board so we need to see which board your TV uses. Post some pictures of all of your boards with your question. That will allow us to see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that.
Measure the fuses on the power board and see if you have continuity as well as power going to those. If you have power to the board, measure the voltages listed on the board of connector CN9101"
