Replaced Screen and Headphone Jack, now it's stuck in a rest loop?

I recently fished out my old 5th gen Ipod Video (late 2006 model) and replaceed the smashed screen and broken headphone jack. Upon connecting it to my PC it at first displayed "very low battery" then shut off then displayed the sad ipod face. Now my PC gives me the noise that it's connected and then it whires then clicks in a loop displaying "Do Not Disconnect".
