Why did my TV lose all sound?

Why did my TV lose all sound? Samsung HL-S5687W has no sound. Tried hooking up an external amplifier and speakers, nothing. Turn up volume to 100 %, nothing. Tried resetting TV and all sound menu adjustments, nothing. Is main board fried? ANSWERS:
