Why is dyer not spinnig but belt is fine

Why is dyer not spinnig but belt is fine The dryer heats up when you start it,but it's sounds like it wants to start but doesn't .If left alone for awhile it will give a slight turn but just stop.like its trying but just can't go.took top off and belt is fine.it heats up fine also.what do I do next,where do I go from here?......
