The novel Hunchback of Notre Dame, by Victor Hugo, is primarily concerned with the themes of social strife, revolution and prejudice. The author emphasized the different classes and statuses of people during that era, as he (Hugo) was concerned about it. He also defined determinism and suggested that everyone should exercise free will to retain morality.
