Workshops on Teaching Philippine Literature in High School and College Students

The Philippine Center for International PEN (Poets, Playwrights, Essayists, Novelists) will hold the Workshops on Teaching Philippine Literature in High School and College Students with the theme "For Love of the Word: Workshops on Teaching Philippine Literature in High School and College,” on February 27, 2012 at the Holy Name University Janssen Campus, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
The objectives of the workshops are to:
  1. promote Philippine literature/s and to assert the participants’ continuing relevance in the educational curriculum and in nation-building;
  2. provide critical guidance and resource materials to readers and teachers/educators;
  3. foster their reading habit to expand the readership of books especially on Philippine literature; and
  4. enable the authors to interact with their readers, the better to get their feedback and to relate intimately with them both intellectually and creatively.
The participants to this activity are teachers from both secondary and tertiary schools.
