DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gave a message to Filipinos saying COVID-19 pandemic is just a small thing in life.
The Philippines is one of the countries greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, lengthy lockdowns were implemented in several areas in the pursuit to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.

With regards to the educational system, students are under blended learning now. The delivery of the lessons is through modules and online classes. Undeniably, it is a completely different set-up from what is usually practiced in schools before the pandemic happened.
Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte recently spoke about the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Chief Executive regarded it as a small thing that Filipinos can surpass.
“Do not despair. Kaya natin ito, COVID na ito. Maliit na bagay ‘to sa buhay natin. Marami tayong dinaanan mas grabe, mas mahirap,” he said.
Based on the report, the President further told the Filipinos not to be afraid as he will not leave the people amid the pandemic. However, his statement regarding COVID-19 as not a big deal sparked outraged from a lot of people.
Bayan Muna Representative Carlos Zarate stressed the billions of money borrowed by the Philippines for the COVID-19 vaccines. Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan raised a question on what the government considers a big deal amid the deaths of 10,000 Filipinos, people getting sick and losing their jobs, and a struggling economy.
