The ERC found merit in the granting or renewal or amendment of 32 above listed power plants after finding, through inspection and evaluation, compliance with the technical, financial and environmental standards set in ERC’s Rules for the Issuance of Certificate of Compliance (COC) for Generation Companies/Facilities (COC Rules). The generating units were also found to be compliant with the Philippine Grid Code (PGC) and Philippine Distribution Code (PDC), the WESM Rules, environmental and other applicable laws.

A COC is a pre-requisite to the commencement of the commercial operations of a power generating plant. It is valid for five (5) years and must be renewed six (6) months prior to its expiration. The issued or renewed or amended COCs shall therefore be valid for five (5) years or until 2016.

"The issuance of these COCs for CLPCI, CHPC, NPC-SPUG and CSSPI gives assurance to the consuming public of a sustainable, viable, safe and reliable supply of electricity,” ERC Chairperson Zenaida G. Cruz-Ducut stated. - https://www.affordablecebu.com/
