Tesla may be working on headphones, speakers and more

Tesla may be working on headphones, speakers and more
Apart from cars, Tesla has sold limited-edition products that have included tequila, t-shirts, shorts and a few other items. However, it looks like the Elon Musk-led company could be working on audio products like headphones, speakers and more. According to a report by The Electrek, Tesla has applied for trademark registration for a new category about two weeks ago. The report states that “TESLA™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of microphones; headphones; earphones; digital audio players; sound transmitting apparatus; audio speakers; subwoofers; earpads for headphones; audio interfaces; audio equaliser apparatus; horns for loudspeakers; megaphones.”Now it is quite possible that the audio devices could be meant to come with Tesla cars only. However, registering a trademark for something that could come with its own cars could be a bit of a stretch. So perhaps Tesla could venture into the category on its own. Having said that, registering a trademark doesn’t always necessarily mean that a company does end up doing something under it. Just like with patents, it could be for a concept, future use or just reserving the idea so no one else actually takes it. According to the report, Tesla has been beefing up its audio systems inside its cars. Tesla also recently hired engineers from Amazon’s team that develops the Echo range of devices. It’s not the first time that Tesla has dabbled with the idea of doing something around music. A few years ago it was reported that Tesla was indeed working on developing its own in-house streaming service. This was when Tesla didn’t have access to other music streaming services in the US. According to reports, the idea was in the beta stage before it was shelved by Musk.Follow Gadgets Now on  Facebook  and  Twitter.   For the  latest news,   tech news,   breaking news headlines and live updates checkout Gadgetsnow.comGN Awards - Vote for your favourite GadgetsFacebookTwitterLinkedinAdd commentStart a ConversationAll Comments (0)+0/3000Be the first one to comment.{"@context":"http://schema.org","@type":"NewsArticle","inLanguage":"en","mainEntityOfPage":{"@type":"WebPage","@id":"https://www.gadgetsnow.com/tech-news/tesla-may-be-working-on-headphones-speakers-and-more/articleshow/89053426.cms","url":"https://www.gadgetsnow.com/tech-news/tesla-may-be-working-on-headphones-speakers-and-more/articleshow/89053426.cms"},"headline":"Tesla may be working on headphones, speakers and more","description":"Apart from cars, Tesla has sold limited-edition products that have included tequila, t-shirts, shorts and a few other items.
