Civic Voices: 2012 International Democracy Memory Bank Project in the Philippines

The Public Service Labor Independent Confederation (PSLINK in cooperation with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) has been implementing a landmark international project dubbed as Civic Voices: 2012 International Democracy Memory Bank Project in the Philippines. The activities will be conducted on the following dates:

Gathering of Video Interviews and Evaluation Forms	January to December 2012

The Project aims to:

1. improve civics instruction of teachers by infusing inquiry-based instructional methods and comparative approaches;
2. enhance civic knowledge, skills and dispositions of students through civics-focused instruction, community research projects, and video interviews of democracy activists; and
3. develop an on-line democracy memory bank housing classroom modules and teachers’ guides on comparative democracy.
   

Participants to this project are regional directors (RDs), schools division/city superintendents (SDSs), school heads (SHs) and teachers. Expenses of the participants relative to this activity shall be borne by the PSLINK.
