DOST Family Fun Run 2011

In line with the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) 2011 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW), the DOST are inviting you to the DOST Family Fun Run: Takbo para sa Siyensya at Teknolohiya 2011. This will be the kick-off of the week-long celebration of bringing science and technology to the people and encourage healthy lifestyle among DOST staff.
The DOST Fun Run will be held on July 25, 2011, 5:00am at the DOST Compound, Bicutan, Taguig City. The fun run has three race categories: the 3k, 6k and 1.5k costume run. There will also be an aerobic dancing session after the run. In addition, there will be an award and prize for the agency with the biggest contingent based on the percentage of participants to the total number of employees of the agency.
 
Mechanics for the DOST Family Fun Run

3Km and 6Km run

• All participants are required to pre-register.
• Race lace will be given at turn around points. Runners must have complete number of laces at the finish line (2 laces for 3k and 4 laces for 6k).Top 3 male and female finishers will receive medals and P 3, 000.00, P 2, 000.00 and P 1, 000, for the first, second and third placers, respectively.
• All runners will receive a singlet.

1.5K Costume Run

• All participants of the costume run are required to pre register for determining the biggest contingent.
• Participants must wear a costume depicting science and technology.
• The top 3 best costume will be based on creativity (30%), relevance (to DOST’s NSTW Theme, "Nasa siyensiya ang pag-asa” (30%), uniqueness (30%) and overall impact (10%). They will be awarded with a medal and P 3,000, P 2,000 and P 1,000 respectively.
• The top three finishers will each receive a medal and P 3,000, P 2,000 and P 1, 000 respectively.
• All runners will receive a singlet.

Biggest Contingent

• The agency with the biggest participation for the run and aerobics will be awarded with a certificate and P 10,000.00.
• The award will be based on the number of registered participants to the total number of employees in their respective agency.
• All participants will receive a T-shirt except for those who will also join the fun run.

RACE DAY

• Race marshals will be available for route assistance during the race. Water stations will be situated along the route. Ambulance will be stationed at the race venue in case of emergency.
• The race organizers have the right to alter the rules and regulations whenever necessary without prior notice to the race participants.
