Summer Training Courses for High School Teachers Adopting the Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL)

Relative to the Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL), the Department of Education (DepEd) through the Bureau of Secondary Education (BSE), in coordination with the Ministry of Education, Embassy of Spain, Instituto Cervantes, Manila, the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development of the Kingdom of Spain, Goethe Institut, Japan Foundation, Alliance Francaise Manila and Cebu and Confucius Institut, shall conduct the following Summer Training Courses for High School Teachers Adopting the Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL):

The objective of the training is to capacitate the teachers on the diverse aspects involved in learning a second or foreign language.

The participants to the training shall be secondary school teachers (see enclosed list) from selected schools nationwide. Likewise, there shall be fifteen (15) additional teachers from the nine (9) participating schools of the German Language.

The teachers shall be given service credits in accordance with DepEd Order No. 53, s. 2003.

The participants in Spanish are expected to arrive in Manila on April 10, 2011 and they shall be responsible to find their lodging for the duration of the training.

The traveling expenses (transportation and per diem) which shall be reimbursed upon presentation of complete travel documents (authority to travel, official receipts, bus/plane/boat tickets, terminal fee tickets, boarding pass), at the venue, stipend for the Spanish and Japanese teachers outside National Capital Region

(NCR) and other incidental expenses of the participants are chargeable to Human Resource and Training Development (HRTD) Funds, subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Participants are advised to take the cheapest means of transportation to and from the training venue.

The partner institutions in said foreign languages shall cover training fees and materials.
