According to the Department of Education (DepEd) School Calendar for School Year 2013-2014, the date of start or opening of classes in the Philippines shall be on June 3, 2013 (Monday).
 The last day of classes for SY 2013-2014 will be on March 31, 2014 (Monday). Private schools in the Philippines may deviate from the specified DepEd School Calendar. But DepEd is advising them not to start classes earlier than June 3 and not later than the last day of August. This is according to the Republic Act (RA) No. 7779.
