This is a rare kit made by Bartfeld Textiles in the mid 90’s. Bartfeld only ever made 2 bear kits with a limited run of 200. It is very rare to find one of these kits new in box. The instructions do not appear to state the height of the finished bear but judging by the pattern I estimate it would be around 50cm. The ‘Bartfeld Bear’ kit has been specifically developed as an authentic reproduction of a classical 1920’s style Teddy Bear. It has a slight hump on its back, a long body, short legs and is fully jointed, allowing it to assume many varying poses. The ‘ Bartfeld Bear’ is made from an imitation mohair plush fabric. The fabric is the finest quality, and has been crafted in England to replicate the colour and feel of the original fabric used during this period. The colour of the fabric is Antique London Gold, a slightly green tinged pale gold, which imitates accurately the colour of the mohair plush fabric used at the time. The completed ‘Bartfeld Bear’ can be theme dressed to enhance his/her appearance and become a valuable, treasured keepsake or a delightful, personalised gift.
