After repair can it still have the water resistant capability as before?

After repair can it still have the water resistant capability as before? Since open the screen damaged the original adhesive, just replacing it can keep the original water resistant capability?

To keep your warranty in place, I would have this done by Apple. In year or so techs will have some repair experience and be better able to answer your question.
