Can I replace the battery in the Surface Book Keyboard?

Which battery you choose to replace depends on which battery is no longer capable of holding a charge. Although the clip portion’s battery has half the battery life of the base battery (4 hours versus 8 hours), neither battery needs replacing if both batteries are fairly functional."

I am in the process of trying to open up the base on the keyboard but it’s proving difficult. Has anyone successfully remove the base yet?
