cant install windows on my hp

cant install windows on my hp how do i reinstall windows on my hp pavilion 551w . when i turn the compter on it boots up to a point where it shows a blank screen with a cursor blinking. it does not go any further. im trying to install windows on the hard drive. thank you

Do you have the original disk? If so put the disk in the CD/DVD drive and turn the computer on. When you see it booting keep tapping F12 until the screen comes up for you to choose which drive you want to boot from. Choose your optical drive and follow the instructions on the screen. I would format the drive and do a clean install. Good luck. Ralph
