How to fix a motherboard that doesn't give display?

I've had around 6 PC motherboards that I have changed over the years. I have all the motherboards with me. The problem with them is that there is a light on the board and the fans turn on when I power up the PC but there is no display. This seems to be a common problem for PC users. I need to know what could be causing such problems and if there is a way to fix it.
