How to fix "Charging not supported by this accessory" problem?

How to fix "Charging not supported by this accessory" problem? I'm trying to get a used iPhone 3GS to charge properly but continually get the "Charging is not supported by this accessory" message. The phone is running iOS 6.1.6. The seller said it had been jail-broken at one point but that that had been undone (restored via DFU mode).

I think the culprit is within their updates which allow Apple to make whatever they want obsolete and control how often you want to buy the newest Iphone. Yes We are all stupid to think otherwise

Like U I also Had This Problem so I Juzt Bought a New Apple 3GS Charger(Not real its just a Local Brand) And Connect It. It Works.......! Note:- U Have to Jailbreak It Before U Done This.......! I Hope This Works For You...............................!

Apple sucks @%^... I connected iPad (1) with a 'non-supported' 30-pin cable to PC and restored it. Everything is working fine. For how long?

I have changed the charging port and the battery on my 3GS wiped and reinstalled os I still have the problem. I have no idea what else to try.
