IPad SIM Locked-Enter a PUK Code

IPad SIM Locked-Enter a PUK Code All of the sudden my iPad stopped working. It will let me enter the passcode, but an error message comes up: “Insert a valid SIM with no pin lock to activate iPad.” It also asks to enter a PUK code. Error message: PUK LOCKED. Thanks for helping.
