Keurig shuts off right after I press brew, and the menu option is dead OK OK I bought it at a thrift store BUT it is really clean, someone took care of it. I would feel great if I can resurrect this baby before surrrendering it to electronic waste.

This problem will happen if the on/off switch (on the back of the machine) is shorted internally, was replaced with the wrong type of switch, or is held down intentionally while pressing any buttons on the front. The on/off switch is a momentary type rocker switch. It should feel spring loaded and return to its original position after you press it. Check to see if the switch feels weird or looks like it has been replaced.
