My zoom lens will not work anymore

My zoom lens will not work anymore

I have goggled everything I could think of and still can't get my lens to zoom out before I take a photo. When I'm video taping something, it will zoom out while taking the video, otherwise I haven't had any success for over a year. I LOVE my cannon camera and use it every day, but I really need the lens to work so I can zoom into something! Please help! Thank you :)
