Powers on but has blank screen, can still hear the Windows tune

Powers on but has blank screen, can still hear the Windows tune

When I turn the laptop on it shows usual start up "Dell' then shows the Windows sign then goes to a dark screen but you can still hear Windows starting up. The screen can't of broke because there isn't anything wrong when first turning it on. Just for some reason it doesn't want to go past start up
