Touch ID ORIGINAL home button not working after screen replacement

Lately I have had problems with the touch ID not working after I did a screen replacement. The home buttons are original.

"sometimes a faulty touch id extension ribbon can cause this, check to see that all the pins are correctly seated, clean and connected properly first, is this is ok and the problem still persists then the likely fix will be to swap the metal plate on the back of the LCD which has the Touch ID ribbon cable attached to it; with the one from your original screen.

Hope this helps."

As Rayeasom has said, check everything is seated correctly, if so then you have probably damaged the home button cable. If problem persists after checking cables & connector fit a new home button, if that fails fit a new extension cable. If you do fit a new home button you will loose the fingerprint function. As a temporary fix use assistive touch in settings which will give you a on the screen home button.
