Where are the temperature sensors of the iPhone 8? I’ve been having problems with my iPhone giving false high temperature warnings, disabling the flashlight and camera flash due to “temperature being too hot” and the most annoying one: The screen can’t go over 50% of the brightness because of this

Have you tried doing a hard reset of the phone, completely wiping it and reinstalling iOS? The issue “thermalmonitord returned not alive” kind of hints to me that there could be a software problem, but the iOS logging isn’t really detailed enough to know for sure.

I also second Chris’s suggestion of replacing the lightning connector, there’s a similar thread I found where this fixed an iPhone 11 that was throwing a similar error.

"The only temp sensors I have come across on the iPhone 8 have been located in the parts of the phone like battery, cameras and the dock connector. There might be one in the Wi-Fi chip but I cannot confirm.

When it comes to temp sensor problems the most common cause is a faulty dock connector. You will need to replace this first."
