Why do callers hear an echo during phone calls?

I finnaly found that the problem became from the extra shell case i used.

if it is in a protective case take it out mine works fine after this.

This is a problem with most phones. Just pick any manufacturer and type their name in google and then put "echo problem" after it, without the quotes. You will see tons of phones have the same problem.
