Why does my printer keep saying offline?

My Epson Workforce 545 is connecting to our home network through our wifi, with an IP address.

"This ""offline"" error occurs because you are using the IP address directly and not the network name of it (usually EPSONXXXXXX). There is a ""DHCP Lease"" that expires every so often. This lease tells the network to assign a specific IP address to the printer until the lease expires, then the IP can change, and in your case, it looks like it does frequently.

I would suggest deleting the epson from the computer, trying to download the latest driver, an run the network configuration again. Make sure the Epson Event Manager is installed, so your computer can communicate with the printer. Allow it through your computer's firewall.

Physically on the printer, one of the network menus will show you that the printer has a name of ""EPSONXXXXXX"". Use this instead of the IP address if possible."

I spent all day trying to print from my mobile and getting printer not ready message. Checked IPS Mac addresses router settings pulling my hair out but was on a mission. What an idiot I am it turns out my VPN was on. Disconnected it and everything fine again.

"i have Had one of these Issue Many time With My Printer. i run a House with 2 Printers & 1 Router & 1 range extenders & years of struggle Has made me Kind of techy When it Comes to Printer & Router Problems. However i am not Really Surprised by the Confusion That Some of the People Have Here.

Confusion i see People are trying to Pin point a particular reason behind the issue Which is Not True At All. I have had my Printer Offline at least 5-6 Times a Years & Most of the time It was different Problem then Before. Earlier in the Post i see many Users Claiming it to be a Port Block Problem Which i think there is only 5 % chance that it could be a Port Blockage.

Why Printer has this error - Printer Offline simply Means that Printer is not able to Communicate With System & Not read to Print. Some of the reason Could be -

Paper jam , Non Compatible ink cartridge, Outdated Router Firmware Or Printer SoftwareMultipal Router connection , Use Printer Offline Mode, Corrupted Printer SoftwareAntivirus Or Firewall blockNow to fix this issue Try Troubleshooting Steps One By One at How to Fix Printer Offline issueSee if this tips is any Help. thanks"

I tried everything suggested on all these boards and FINALLY solved my epson wf 3620 always losing connection to my wifi after 2 days. I called my tech support at my internet provider and mentioned to him what was happening. He took a look at my modem remotely and saw that my 2.4 and 5g were bouncing back and forth between the two trying to make one connection because ,my two computers were logging in at 5g because I selected that rate, whereas the printer can only connect at 2.4, so he adjusted the setting in the modem to create both a 5g and a 2.4g out to the internet so my computers use the 5g and printer the 2.4. I HAVEN’T HAD A PROBLEM SINCE, plus streaming movies has eliminated buffering issues almost 100%. I hope this helps.

"Try this, like on the screenshot its a WSD, click on “add port”, then chose standard TCP/IP port and add him with his IP Address. After that select the new created port”192.168. x. x” and choose, configure port… and disable SNMP protocol.

Worked for me"
