Ya it's the screen connector shield that does it. Take it off and reseat it till til goes away. At least that's what causes it on the 5.

"These are my findings why yellowish spots on iphone LCD screens appear.

1-Due to some particles/material between Backlight film and metal back plate /sheild.

2-Bent in the Metal plate/Sheild.

3-Tightening the screws too much near home button, or speakers."
