How do I get my printer listed in the start menu's list of programs?

How do I get my printer listed in the start menu's list of programs? I just bought a Brother Printer - HL-L2315DW series. When I click on the control panel I see it is listed. But it is not listed in the programs when I click on the Start Menu. I would like it listed there so that I can right click on it in order to get an icon to place on my desktop.

"I finally solved the problem thanks to your suggestions. I was able to click the program in the control panel and then from the drop-down menu select the right choice - place the Brother printer icon on the desktop.
