How to change battery for 750Li?

How to change battery for 750Li? How to change battery on BMW 750Li. I heard only dealership can change the battery because of programming issue. Is that correct?

"BMW supplied battery $389, autozone type battery $150-$190. In both instances battery needs to be registered to the car. Dealership cost $163.

Independent BMW shop did registration for our car. They charged $50. Later I found that there is an app for iOS and Android that can do it for you. But, you will need to buy their OBDII adapter (connects via WiFi). If you will continue use BMWs, probably it is a good investment.
