keyboard won't power with adaptor - yamaha ac power adaptor class 2 12

my yamaha keyboard has worked fine until now. when i went to turn it on, there was a brief light & then dark again. sometimes i don't even get a blip. does the same thing on other outlets. how can i tell if it's the adaptor or keyboard & how can i fix it? thanks

"Hi @lctsr ,

According to the service manual the part number for part JK151- DC-In 12V socket (p.10 in the Parts list) is LB302260

Here’s a link to just one supplier. It is shown only to give an idea of the cost of the part. There are other suppliers that may suit you better.

Just search online by typing LB302260 only in the search box of your browser to get suppliers of the part."

"I had the same problem but with the E353. When Yamaha sold me this keyboard it came with an unregulated power supply (not fixed at 12V) so I changed to one fixed at 12Vdc (regulated) and was the end of the problem.

Sometimes is hard to turn-on the keyboard but it's not related to the power supply, it's about humidity or the contacts to be cleaned."

"Hi Arch,

It could simply be that the wire is loose, so twist it until you feel the click and it should be fine.

There are other options like getting a new cord though.

Hope everything works out!"

"I have a PSR-550 didn’t work with AC power but OK with batteries. Wiggled DC connector in rear and power would sometimes come on.

Took out 14 screws on back and undid 2 leads carefully to separate base assembly from top. On rear of power connector soldered small piece of flexible wire from J503 link wire to adjacent pin. (Connects to the centre pin). As added mechanical support glued connector to the PCB. Re-connect 2 leads making sure to support the PCB while pressing the connectors. All OK now!"
